Day 15 - Kidds Beach

Campsite in Morgan Bay Very hard paddle today with strong currents going against the kayak. 46 km done in about 8 hours. Robert does not sound as enthousiastic about the Eastern Cape as he was about the Wild Coast... He said he just looked ahead and paddled...

Day 14 - Yellowsands

2 weeks on the sea and over 480 km done!!!!!! Perfectly on schedule! Today was a very hard paddle as the current was against Robert, so it took him 7 hours and 30 min to do 35.6 km... The rocks that the prep work had warned Robert about, are apparently...

Day 13 - Morgan Bay

34.2 km, a short paddle today. Still a bit of a rough paddle though as Robert got caught in the surf as he left this morning and the kayak got flipped over. He still managed to do an eskimo roll and to keep on going... Robert has managed to catch up with...

Day 11 - Madakeni Mouth

52.7 km done today!! Fabulous! Today Robert caught 2 nice bonitos. When Robert arrived on the beach at the mouth of the river Madakeni, some kids were there and helped him getting the kayak onto the beach. Robert could not speak with them as they could...

A very well-deserved day of rest for Robert... His hands are suffering and the outsides of his ankles are now skinless from rubbing onto the kayak all day in water... Not pleasant... Today, Robert's normal cell phone has some signal, so we can speak normally,...

Day 7 - Umzikaba

Another very hard day of paddling for Robert with an average of 4 km/hr during 6.5 long hours... Just over 24 km done. The day started under some very heavy rain... Robert's tent has suffered a lot... The sand blasted on the tent has damaged the zips...
