Day 13 - Morgan Bay
34.2 km, a short paddle today.
Still a bit of a rough paddle though as Robert got caught in the surf as he left this morning and the kayak got flipped over. He still managed to do an eskimo roll and to keep on going...
Robert has managed to catch up with Joy and Richard in Morgan Bay, where they were spending a couple of days. They managed to get some extra dehydrated meals, a new bottle of gas and a new tent for him. He also got new antibiotics as his hands and his ankles are badly damaged. Joy and Richard also managed to get some pictures of Robert and also to transfer the photos and videos that Robert took from the kayak. Here are some that Joy took (I will get the other ones next week):
The wonderful people from the Morgan Bay Hotel were very supportive of Robert, especially Richard, the owner, who offered a room free of charge to Robert for the night and Erika the receptionist who helped with the box that had been sent there from Durban. Robert refused the room and spent the night in the new tent on the beach... He however did not refuse their breakfast and had a proper feast before "hitting the road" again... Thank you to all of them for being so supportive!
I have received a photo from the black tip shark that Robert caught the other day but for some reason I cannot attach it here... So hopefully it will be here next time!
Robert is now out of the Transkei! Let's hope the trip goes as well in the civilized part of the coast as it did in the Wild Coast...
