Day 7 - Umzikaba
Another very hard day of paddling for Robert with an average of 4 km/hr during 6.5 long hours... Just over 24 km done.
The day started under some very heavy rain... Robert's tent has suffered a lot... The sand blasted on the tent has damaged the zips and one of the poles has broken so tonight Robert has had to make a plan (another one) and he is now using his harpoon as a tent pole.
The injuries on his legs do not seem to be bothering him...
The greatest achievement of the day is that Robert has caught a 16 kg yellowfin tuna... The beast is huge and obviously heavy for the kayak but Robert kept on paddling with the fish on-board for two hours...
When Robert arrived on the beach, a family of holiday-ers were there and they were seriously impressed by the tuna and Robert of course! Robert offered them a huge part of the fish against 2 beers and a packet of sugar. They actually did much more for him as they brought him a huge plate of delicious and nutritious food with dessert! I hope Robert gets to meet a lot more of great and generous people willing to help him, it does make a huge difference!
Robert describes Umzikaba as being a piece of heaven...
The wind tomorrow should be coming from the north. Hopefully it will be helping Robert for tomorrow's paddle...
