Day 12 - Zambezi and tiger...
What a day!
Robert has arrived at "point 41" which means 54 km further than where he was this morning. However his GPS announces more kms: the kayak seems to have been pulled by something else...
During a little pause this morning, Robert saw a large shark passing under the kayak but he could not say what it was. Later on, as he was paddling, a huge fish bit onto the line, gave a big fight and pulled about 300 m of line and then disappeared...
After that Robert caught a nice bonito and after that a very big dorado that he freed. Whilst Robert was fighting with the dorado, a tiger shark, measuring approximately 3 m, came under the kayak...
Later again, Robert caught another huge fish that he pulled for 1 hr 40 min, or was it the other way around???? Robert pulled the line in and discovered that he had been pulling a zambezi shark!!!!!!!!!! The dorsal fin was right next to him and the shark parallel to the kayak... Robert managed to cut the line and the beast disappeared... But apparently the shark pulled so hard that Robert had to do some extra kms...
Later on Robert spotted another zambezi shark, also known as bull shark (NOT the friendly type) and quite a few dolphins...
Tomorrow Robert will try to reach Morgan's bay where hopefully he will get the box that Russell has sent and more importantly a new tent! It has been raining hard again today so having a decent tent is a must! Not to mention the extra food supplies...
