Day 24 - Tuesday 18th Dec - Cape Saint Francis
68 km done since Sunday!
Today, Robert decided to cross the bay rather than going along the coast and so he paddled about 15 km off the coast... He arrived in Cape Saint Francis where he met Martin, Charl's friend who brought the very precious new harpoon! A big thank you to both Martin and Charl for having organized all this! I think I might have to cook up a feast to thank all the people who have helped Robert along the way... Martin also brought some beers along and Robert was also very glad to drink some!
Robert stopped in what seems to be a harbour, very similar to the Waterfront for the Capetownians, and so he could not bring the kayak on the beach. He decided to tie it up onto a diving boat and also made camp on that boat, hoping that there would be no rain as the boat was completely open...
Today, Robert has caught a shark, again... This time a bronze-whaler, between 2.5 and 3 meters long... Robert has obvioulsy freed the beast, just like the other ones...
Again very strong winds and huge waves, very hard conditions...
