Day 30-31 - Keurbooms Strand

Robert has spent the last two days having a rest and enjoying Christmas with Joy and Richard. He has even had a shower!!! He now has some more dehydrated meals and new swe et/chocolate supplies, and also and more importantly some new tent poles as some...

Day 27-28-29 - From Oyster Bay to Keurbooms Strand!

Another 116.5 km done! 1016.5 KM DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 640 to go... I am hoping that Robert will arrive a bit earlier than planned to be able to spend time together and to have some rest befoire going back to work! Day 28, Sat 22nd Dec,...

Day 25 and 26 - Just before Oyster Bay

Robert spent Thursday on the beach as he was knackered from the previous days' hard paddles... He said it took him 4 hours to do 10 km on Wednesday... And still strong winds and huge waves, very hard going... Today, Friday 21/12, he should be reaching...

Day 25 - Wednesday 19th Dec

Today I have missed Robert's call as I was in Disneyland with my family... He left a message but I could not understand any of it so we will just have to wait for tonight's call... In the meantime, a photo of Robert and his best catch, his 16 kg yellow...

Day 24 - Tuesday 18th Dec - Cape Saint Francis

68 km done since Sunday! Today, Robert decided to cross the bay rather than going along the coast and so he paddled about 15 km off the coast... He arrived in Cape Saint Francis where he met Martin, Charl's friend who brought the very precious new harpoon!...

Day 18 - Port Alfred

59 km done today! Over 630 km done! More than a third already done! Robert is suffering... He has been stung at least 20 times by blue bottles, he has got bites everywhere... Very unpleasant!! He caught a very nice little fish for his supper so he decided...

Day 17 - Bhega beach

Another 46 km done today! Robert decided to wait for the restaurant to open this morning so that he could leave on a very full stomach... Patricia, from last night, came to "knock" on the tent this morning at 5:30 to bring him a nice breakfast and a coffee...
