Day 42 - Stilbaai
45.9 km done... Totalling 1264 km...
The surf was huge as Robert was leaving the Gouritz River mouth on Saturday morning. It was so bad that a ski-boat did not managed to go through it!
Once out at sea, Robert met some Afrikaans fishermen who told him that it was a hell of a surf and could not believe he had managed to go through it... He was very chuffed and rightly so!
Whilst getting through it, he did see a big shark circling around something or maybe even eating something... Robert did not take the time to see what type of shark it was and just hoped he would get out of the surf without falling...
Then, whilst paddling, he glided over a big hammerhead shark...
Robert also reported that many people had come to see him on Friday night on the beach at the Gouritz River mouth and that later in the evening some kind of security guy asked him to leave the premises immediately... Robert explained his situation and told him he would leave very early the next morning and so the guy allowed him to stay...
Today, Sunday 6th January, Robert expects to arrive in Witsand...
